Do you have a kitchen designer?

Yes! Joanna is our designer. She is a NAKB Certified Designer. 

Do you charge to quote or design?

We have a detailed process to provide clear budget and thorough scope of work! For example, to design and quote a kitchen remodel we charge approximately $2100.  

Do you provide 3D drawings?

Yes! We provide computer generated drawings using a software application called 2020 Design. These drawings give our clients a sense of how their kitchen remodel will look.

I am interested in doing a kitchen remodel that may require moving walls or possibly as an addition on our home. Is this something you do?

Yes, Nelson Builders is a full-service kitchen and home remodeler. Our trades can achieve any kitchen design including floor plan changes and home additions as required.

Do you pull permits for the work?

Where permits are required, we prepare and acquire them.

I have purchased all of my own product, will you install it?

To maintain quality control we coordinate all design and ordering. For this reason, and for warranty reasons we only install products we supply and we take a great deal of pride in what we do.

How long does it take to get a kitchen remodel quote?

We first assess your space then move into the design and selections phase, then provide a detailed quote and scope of work. From the time of design to quoting will take about a month.

How soon are you able to renovate my kitchen?

From product ordering until the time a job starts will vary throughout the year from 6 to 12 weeks depending on materials chosen and workload. We endeavor to keep communication open updating clients with estimated timelines as materials are received.

How long does it take to finish a kitchen remodel once it’s started?

To fully renovate a kitchen averages about 6 to 8 weeks depending on the scope of work. Kitchens as part of an addition take longer.

Are your trades qualified and insured?

Yes! Our trades are hand selected for who they are and the work they do. We have strong relationships with our staff and deep loyalties. We count on them for their craftsmanship and for their professionalism.

Is your work warrantied?

Do you take deposits? How much and when?

A 50% deposit is collected to order the materials for a kitchen remodel. The balance owing is due based benchmarks and progress payments. Note: Initial deposits vary with larger projects and additions.

Do you offer financing for kitchen remodels?

We do not offer financing on kitchen remodels.

I want to reface my cabinets my kitchen; will you do this?

We offer complete turnkey kitchen renovations with new cabinetry. We do not reface.

Can I/my friend/relative do some of the work myself?

In order to maintain quality control and warranty we offer complete renovation services only.

I have a certain style of kitchen that I want to do, can you accommodate my style?

Yes! During the planning phase first get to know your style and your home’s architecture. We are then able to have some fun in being creative and helping achieve your vision and unique kitchen design.

I have a rental unit to do on a tight budget, can you accommodate?

We focus on mid to upper renovations. This speaks to the craft, process and quality of our remodels.

I am a new home builder and I need cabinets installed; can you accommodate?

As we are a remodeling company, we do not do cabinet installations for home builders.

Do you sell cabinetry that I can install myself?

We only sell installed products as part of a kitchen remodel.

I have a set budget that falls within your posted budget guidelines but I’m not sure how expensive certain options are. Does your quote provide a detailed breakdown?

Although our pricing is project based, we are happy to option or keep separate in the quote an item if you are unsure it fits within your budget.

I have unique requirements for my kitchen remodel, can you accommodate?

Nelson Builders is a custom kitchen remodeler and we love to accommodate specials requests for unique products and design features where possible and we are happy to serve your needs – it’s what we do best!
